A flat measurement helps you compare bags, but it is not the same as usable volume. The shape of your loaf and the space needed to close the top matter too.
Know the two measurements
The supplied product images list the cotton outer at approximately 43 × 32 cm and the removable liner at approximately 40 × 32 cm. Both are measured flat. These dimensions describe the supplied version, rather than every bread bag sold online.
Allow room for the closure
The bag needs spare fabric above the bread so you can roll the opening and fasten the buckle. A loaf that reaches the top of the unrolled bag may leave too little room to close it properly.
Think about the loaf’s shape
For a round loaf, consider its widest part and height. For a sandwich loaf, keep slices together and check the space around the corners. A long baguette may need cutting into shorter portions. Small rolls should fit loosely rather than be packed tightly.
Choose a set for your routine
A single bag is a starting point for one regular loaf. Sets of three or five can suit separate loaves or sharing with other households. Each complete bag has its own outer and liner; a larger set does not mean a larger individual bag.
